New York City, NYStrategy – Financial ProductsFull-timeAs Director of Operations for Financial Products business, your primary responsibility will be to set-up and manage our operations team to deliver outstanding service and support to our clients. The Director is a core member of the Financial Products leadership and will be actively involved in product strategy decisions and the development of new product lines. Director of Operations will lead the design & setup of the Operations team for the business, including support for a number of financial products including payments, money movement, cash storage, brokerage, etc. The responsibility will include client on-boarding, payments, clearing/settlement reporting & reconciliation, vendor & 3rd party management, fulfillment, fraud, disputes, risk & AML operations.The Director will lead end-to-end capability development to support all operational and service workflows and aim to create a highly-automated, self-service oriented process framework. In this role, you will work closely with Carta’s Head of Financial Products to help define the business roadmap, support in designing & launching products & own the operations function for the business on an ongoing basis.


  • Serve as the key operations liaison for new product development efforts for the Financial Products business
  • Recruit, train and manage a small team focused on operations management for Financial products business
  • Design and manage the operations function for the financial products business
  • Develop & implement robust, repeatable, consistent procedures to manage and automate various business processes, including client onboarding/KYC, AML screening, reconciliation, clearing & settlement, vendor management & fulfillment, fraud & risk operations, case management, manual processes and critical KPI reporting
  • Identify and develop relationships with external partners (banks, data providers, technology platforms) for product delivery & drive internal capability development
  • Support product & process design to account for requirements from the product, sales, marketing, compliance, internal audit, regulatory, & legal functions
  • Work with Engg. to set-up appropriate workflow & data infrastructure to manage and monitor processes, capture key metrics, identifying & implement ongoing improvements to the operational processes
  • Providing guidance on business policies, standards, and procedures as well as controls over regulatory/policy requirements and monitoring of those controls
  • Develop strong reporting & communication cadence with Senior Management on operational processes and ongoing improvements


  • 8+ years of experience in operations management, including working within regulated financial services businesses, such as Bank & payment operations, FinOps, Financial reconciliation & settlement, Fraud & risk ops, Disputes & Customer service management
  • Experience with/enjoy working in a dynamic, high-growth environment with fast-paced, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Built, led and managed a team focused on operations management discipline/function
  • Experience in developing operations management framework, ideally for a complex B2B SaaS product environment
  • Experience in developing & managing workflows, data infrastructure to create seamless, highly-automated operational processes
  • Solid experience in working with external partners/strategic partnerships (banks, data providers, tech platforms, etc.)
  • Strong leadership & interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead cross functional teams to a solution and adjust leadership style for the situation
  • Strong Analytical, conceptual and problem-solving ability
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, coupled with strategic influencing skills
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated deep domain knowledge in fintech and B2B financial products (e.g. payments, cash storage, money movement, commercial or corporate banking, commercial or corporate lending, broker-dealer)
