Juniper Networks
June 16, 2019
Sunnyvale, CA
Job Type

The Juniper Networks Integrity & Compliance Group (ICG) is looking for a highly motivated compliance professional to take a leadership role in coordinating overall Juniper’s Integrity & Compliance Program for our operations in the US, Canada and Latin America. The Regional Compliance Director will report to the Juniper Networks Chief Compliance Officer and partner with the business and other stakeholders to drive policy implementation, education and training, compliance controls, monitoring, investigation of reported and suspected compliance issues, and support risk assessments and remediation efforts with company personnel and business partners. In addition, The Director is responsive for the regional management of the channel partner compliance program including partner on-boarding controls and oversight of continuing channel partner compliance efforts.

What We Value

The Integrity & Compliance Group enhances and supports Juniper’s overall competitiveness through a diverse worldwide team of compliance professionals using both current and emerging best practices such as automation and data analytics to quickly and efficiently identify and mitigate compliance risks to Juniper’s success. We carry out that mission through attention to the following Juniper ICG Operating Imperatives:

  • Know the Business -Without understanding our business and processes in detail, we cannot devise effective and efficient process controls that mitigate the risk without unnecessary cost, delay or burden on our people or our customers.
  • Shorten the OODA Loop - Unnecessary delay is lethal to competitiveness. We maintain an urgency bias. We don’t take compliance shortcuts or excessive risk. But we seek to automate where possible and provide clear guidance that minimizes confusion and delays. We understand that, all things being equal, saying “no” to an idea quickly is far better than saying it slowly and causing paralysis for the business.
  • Finish the Last Mile - We adopt a completion bias. Completing a project never gets easier with delay. Getting it done now, no matter how challenging, is always easier than later. Stopping and then re-starting inevitably requires extra time to refamiliarize ourselves and others with the details we had previously mastered. It also important to get today’s work done today because tomorrow will bring new challenges that we will be asked to tackle.
  • Be Data Driven - The legal and compliance fields have for too long done things without really questioning why or how because “that’s the way it has always been done.” Sometimes, decisions are too often based on fable or gut instinct. The problem is that those traditions or instincts are often just plain wrong. We seek to measure the effectiveness of our strategies and tools and validate them with data or evidence.
  • Take Partners - The most important things we do and the areas where we will add the most value to Juniper will be on initiatives and activities that have direct impact on our stakeholders. Taking a partnership approach helps us avoid unnecessary problems, identify creative solutions and enlist support instead of resentment and opposition.
  • Continuous Improvement -We are always looking for emerging risks that could trip up Juniper and recognize when past risks have evaporated or changed forms. We are constantly looking for compliance process inefficiency and waste that adds burdens and delays to Juniper. Practicing “Lean Compliance” is not about doing things on the cheap or taking shortcuts; its doing everything that really matters but eliminating processes and burdens that are ineffective or wasteful.
