Come join the Payment Platform -the team at Verizon Media and work on large scale payment system that serves multiple Verizon Media brands. We are looking for an experienced individual to work on Payments Operation and Compliance role to handle our payment operations and manage compliance programs such as PCI program for Verizon Media’s Payments Platform that serves our products.

Based in Sunnyvale, CA, this role is critical to the successful operation of our Verizon Media products and Payments Platform. This role provides an opportunity to work on large scale payments platform that is growing, learn the latest payments and related regulations such as European PSD2, 3DS, California Consumer Privacy Act and many more that will impact the payments industry. The person will be working with Tax, Legal, Accounting, Product Managers, Chargeback/Fraud teams, and Engineering to gather information, coordinate work and provide direction. Also, you get to change to use your program management skills to manage our Payment Card Industry (PCI) assessment program and learn about the latest PCI requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage global payments portfolio including credit/debit card, ACH, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and alternative payments. Assess new payment opportunities including alternative payments (market share, cost, potential lift) for Verizon Media business strategies.
  • Manage vendor relationships including payment processors, card brands, PCI auditors, fraud, and reporting vendors.
  • Ensure rules and regulations compliance with card brands by managing compliance programs.
  • Lead Verizon Media Payments’ PCI audit and compliance process, including all technical and security controls. A primary point of contact for QSA and other audit authorities.
  • Coordinate with security, network operations, data centers, and other groups at Verizon Media to adopt best practices, communicate system changes, and facilitate PCI documentation and compliance.
  • Manage the project document repository; maintain strict deadlines and positive vendor relationships.

Industry Knowledge 

  • In-depth knowledge of payments industry including key stakeholders, processes, best practices and payment methods.
  • Experience in financial services and information technology, with a wide-ranging understanding of payment products globally.
  • Understanding of emerging trends in both payments and payment compliance. 

Required Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of the payment regulations and standards..
  • Proven expertise of program management and leading of programs.
  • Collaborative and able to share best practice at all levels.
  • Highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business or related field.
