Job Title: Sr. Accountant, Tapestry

Primary Purpose: The Sr. Accountant will provide accounting and analytical support for global e-commerce and order management. Overall team responsibilities include participation in the Tapestry close process, analytics, monthly reconciliations, fraud management, and SOX compliance. It offers multifaceted experience and opportunity for cross-functional collaboration with Tapestry Brand and Regional Controller teams, Customer Care, Corporate Finance and IT. The position will report to the Sr. Manager, Finance and work in the Jacksonville Distribution Center.

Position Summary


  • Month-end close responsibilities including journal entries, preparing account reconciliations and ensuring Tapestry’s deadlines are met
  • Monitor activities of various functional areas to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, GAAP, SOX, and industry “best practices”
  • Develop and implement process improvements by analyzing current accounting procedures and recommending changes
  • Monitor financials, investigate and correct errors in financial posting and reporting
  • Work closing with business partners to understand new initiatives and any accounting or control impact
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly reporting decks including balance sheet flux analysis for management’s review
  • Special projects and ad hoc reporting as requested from internal and external business partners
  • Manage and review all internal and external auditor requests
  • Learn the process flow of all transactions in order to be able to get into the detail when issues need to be researched
  • Fraud analytics 

The Accomplished Individual Will Possess

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent team player who works extremely well in a collaborative environment
  • Attention to detail and delivery focused
  • Willingness to understand transactional details and apply to the larger picture
  • Strong desire to learn
  • B.S. or M.S. in Accounting
  • 4 years or more of experience
  • Ability to multi task and strong organizational skills
  • Strong pc skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel

The Outstanding Individual Will Possess

  • Big 4 Experience or Public Accounting with Retail Experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent credential
  • SAP S4/Hana
  • Microstrategy
  • Experience with ReconNet a plus
