In this panel, industry experts will discuss new approaches to preventing identity fraud.  The panelists will provide insights on how powerful AI-based models and better orchestration of internal and external data can empower businesses, rather than just try and save them from potential fraudulent acts. 

This panel will feature prominent speakers from KPMG Canada, Jumio, and Fraud.net:

  • Melanie Gagne, KPMG Canada’s Director of Advisory Services, Financial Crimes will serve as moderator. Prior to joining KPMG, Gagne worked for RBC, Interac, and Equifax International. At Equifax, she held the position of Head of Anti-Fraud Products and Identity, leading a team of product managers in a dozen different countries to provide flexible and scalable fraud management solutions for those markets.
  • Bala Kumar is the Chief Product Officer at Jumio Corp, overseeing Jumio’s product vision and strategy and leading the execution of Jumio’s digital identity platform. Kumar brings more than two decades of product innovation and leadership experience to Jumio, informed by his prior position as a TransUnion executive. 
  • Whitney Anderson, CEO and co-founder of Fraud.net, brings over 25 years of experience in technology, digital commerce, banking, and machine learning to this discussion. His career began in international finance, and then he was recruited by Kroll Associates, specialists in complex and large-scale fraud. For the last 17 years, Anderson has been building technology startups to solve big, difficult problems, most recently for Fraud.net, an AI-powered fraud detection and prevention platform.
